master or slave? Please help!

Last week my 93wrangler 4 cyl started to be hard to shift, then within a day or 2 it became near impossible for 1st and reverse- I shifted without the clutch on that day and didnt reverse.. Now it sits in driveway- thought it was clutch but the clutch doesnt slip once it is in a gear- I just cant get it in a gear. the clutch has no pressure behind it- it is almost on the floorboard, all floppy.. No leaks - shifts fine with car turned off. I cant get it to a hill around here very easily to test the RPMs in 5th, so I hope it isnt the clutch.
Please, can someone tell me how to tell if it is the slave or master before I order a part and find someone to install? thanks..

The slave usually leaks when bad, sounds like the clutch master cylinder. Just a guess.

I hope it is the master- Can I order one and install with no car experience but a book and the internet do you think?
I just bought this Jeep and I'd always wanted a white jeep and it is beautiful- but now things are starting to happen and I am low on funds for a mechanic!! Went back to driving my Bronco- but now it is getting high RPM without the speed going up immediately.. Arg!
