Yes I know, another tire size question. I was hoping to put 32's on but think they may not clear. Also, I like trail riding but dont get to do much except when hunting. What is a good tire for mostly highway use but like to get dirty on occasion? BTW, it came with 30's from the factory on 15 inch wheels.

My 04 also came with the 30 inch tires and 8 inch wide wheels. I've got 31's on mine and haven't had any problems or tire rub. You MIGHT be able to squeeze 32's but I'd bet you'd have some rub at full turn and off road.

Mostly highway use, you'll probably want an all terrain tire like the BFG A/T. You probably wouldn't want to spend the money on a mud tire and then just wear it out on the highway.

bfg mud terrains wear like iron on the highway and are worth every penny if they get you where you need to go. at's just dont cut it for me, if you need it to get you back to a huntin spot id go wtih the bfg mt's over the at's. ive got a buddy with 32"mt's with 40k on them and they still have life in them

I used to run BFG M/T's on my Toy 4x4, and could get 60k with good tread, and another 30 or 40k of racing slicks before they blew. Yeah, I was a broke college student and couldn't afford new tires once the tread was gone....just didn't wheel it as much when they were bald!

I wouldn't go bigger than 31's if you plan on taking it offroad unless you lift it first.

a 2 inch "budget boost" will allow those 32's you want. They can be bought for around $200 and an install takes a few hours if done at home.

Seems like I've seen a guy that fit a 33" X 9.50" on a stock TJ, he may have had a bb, but it doesn't seem like he did

I'm thinking that is do-able with some serious cutting

31" if you don't want any rubbing when offroad. You can run 33"x10.5" with a 2" BB.

I've seen one jeeper wheel a stock TJ on 33", it was doable but the tires were all over the flares and fenders

Thanks for the reponses guys. I think I'm gonna get a set of Firestone Destination M/T's at 31x10.5. Found them for $94 each. Should fit I hope.

Copper42, where did you find the firestones for 94 bucks? I just bought four of them about a month ago and it cost me a little more than that. If you could give me the place that sold them, I may be able to do a price adjustment. Yeah, I'm cheap and would like a little bling back. LOL, Thanks, KJ

I did a google search for the tires and found them at tirerack.com.

Copper42, I think you misread the website. I had been looking at that site for the same tire and for the MT it is 134., the AT is around 90. Just thought you should know before you buy. Take Care, KJ

Yea, looks like I did misread it. I just bought a set of BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A's for $670.00. I like the look and feel of the tire and they were at the store so I didn't have to pay for shipping and mounting.

Copper, now we need pics of the Jeep with her new meats!

Humm so are the Firestones aren't 94 bucks right? Cause i paid like 150 bucks a tire around a year ago. that would really suck if i coulda bought them for 400 total. But if that's true then i wanna buy another set, for my jeep ;).

I bought them for 134 a piece back in December. Man, I wish they were 90.
