Maybe evolution is true afterall...

no kidding. Think they'd make sure it wasn't live, sucks to be him

In my line of work you hear about these idiots from time to time. Damn shame, what a way to die ::shudder::

House sevices used to be copper, and some older ones still are. Newer house services are aluminum triplex (bare ASCR neutral with insulated aluminum hot wires).

Someone should tell these guys about tic tracers before they go about their business

That's been a real problem in Wichita with all the crackheads and meth addicts stealing copper wiring. They've even been stealing air conditioner units from houses, stripping copper pipe out of abandoned buildings and new construction to sell to support their habit.

yeah that is bad around here also.

Some jack-arse was caught taking a whole, working A/C unit off of a church in Dallas last week, with record heat.. that should be a hate crime.;)

Nothing screams justice more than when ta person dies in the process of committing a crime! Just removing themselves from the gene pool.

Ohh...it's not over that fast my jeepin buddy.
Whatch out for his family suing the electric company and property owner for not putting up enough signs waring a would be copper thief of the dangerous voltage. This is America afterall.............8)

yeah big problem here in the U.S. People win frivoulous (probably did not spell correctly) lawsuits who win tons of money while those people who are injured by someones negligence don't get nearly enough to compensate for their pain and suffering. We need to have judges who sit down, look at the family and say, "i'm sorry for your loss, but if your family member (thief) was not stealing somehting that wasn't rightfully his he wouldn't have been killed. So go kick up some dirt elsewhere because we won't award you any money for his mistake". The wrong people always seem to get the biggest settlements.

another note... our lawsuit happy society has caused us to have printed signs all over our cars, appliances, and buildings because of these jacka$$ criminals. Don't you love the civil courts.

yeah It made me laugh that my 1" body lift came with a bunch of stickers to notify my passengers that the vehicle was darn near inherently life threatening thanks to that extra inch

The funny thing about the copper wire thing is that the theives typically spend days cutting the wire into odd bits and pieces so that they can claim they are scrap pieces when they try to turn them into the recyclers, and of course the recyclers typically don't ask anymore questions then they are legally required to.

That's nothin'! They caught some jackass stealing entire streetlights out of Baltimore city last year. After a few months of sucessful streetlight harvesting, they caught the guy driving down the Baltimore-Washington Parkway with 2 of them hanging out of the trunk of his car.

The Wichita Police Department did a sting last month on scrapyards. Kansas law requires them to get the name, address, and phone number of all who sell scrap metal to them, and also document where they got the metal from. The cops posed as crackheads (not much of a stretch for some of them) and sold copper wire to 5 different scrapyards....3 of them got busted and shut down!

Those kinds of people are disgusting. My friends had the aluminum siding stolen off their house and turned in to the scrap yard for cash. Her dad runs the scrap yard and saw it coming through. Nothing you can do, though... they just say someone else sold it to them or gave it to them. This guy that runs the scrap yard had some beautiful metal urn stolen from his yard.. the next day some joker brought it in to be sold to HIM for scrap cash... imagine how he felt when his unique stolen urn came back to him to be traded for CASH! The dude said he bought it somewhere or some crap.
People suck...I am really sick of people that suck. I wanna start my own town with totally cool people who just want to have fun and treat each other decent.. nothing else.. Just Jeeps and cool people.....If you suck or wanna screw other people over... GET THE He** out!!!! I also want to start my own church called the Church of the Good Time People...... that is another story....:purple:

I sure do LOVE stealing copper. Imma go get some right now.
