Motorcraft 2150 and CARB legal?

Hey everyone,
I'm over here in Iraq, in the Marines, and I'm doing research for my Jeep. I want to put a California legal Carb on my 84 CJ7, but I'm not sure if the motorcraft 2150 is in that category. This will be my daily driver in CA, and all the Holley and Eddelbrock types I've seen are not street legal in CA. Does anyone have any experience with California emmissions and whether or not I could get away with putting the 2150 on my Jeep? Any help would be great!

Which gas tank do I have?

The motorcraft 2150 won't pass the CA visual or sniffer test. It doesn't have the stepper motor on the back and therefore eliminates part of the computer's emission system. I'm pretty sure the only CA smog legal carb for the 1983-86 jeeps is the stock carter bbd. I was in the same predicament, and ended up rebuilding my stock carb which made a big difference in performance.
