if it worked before you put the new parts on, then never worked after the install, double check all you wires. Especially the power to the coil, and the spark plug firing order (here's a link to the 4.2L firing order)[addsig]

New distributer or distributer cap?

if the distributer only,perhaps it was not put in the correct firing order?



but also make sure the module has proper ground

GOT IT ON THURS .WIFE DROVE IT FRIDAY .IWENT TO CRANK IT UP ON SAT WOULD NOT CRANK.SO THAT IS WHEN I STARTED REPLACING ITEMS MENTION IN THE ABOVE POST. IS THERE ANY KIND OF RELAY THAT I DONT KNOW ABOUT.I DO HAVE MY PLUG WIRES LINE UP CORRECTLY.I NOT GETING A STEADY SPARK FROM MY COIL[addsig]

What year and engine? Do you have power at the + side of coil when key is turned?

Also, try taking off dist. cap. KEEP IT Out of the way, and turn eng. over. Is rotor turning? If it is, You can also pull off one plug wire stick an extra plug in it let tip of plug touch the engine, then turn key, does it have spark?[addsig]

i have the 84 cj7 with 4 cylinder.it shows i have power on the + side of coil but we put a omh meter on it and it was only 6 volts.[addsig]
