NEED Help on 2 part problems.

Hello to everyone again... It has been a while since my last post because I have been turning the wrenches almost non stop on my Jeep. If you don't already know I pulled the 4cyl auto out of my YJ and put in an 02 TJ 6cyl with a stick... well all is going well so far I have very little left before my Jeep is back off the road again. I am having a hard time finding 2 parts however. I need a clutch master cylinder for a YJ. I have the lines and the slave just need the master.......no salvage yards around here has one (mainly cause salvage around here sucks) and Jeep wants $180 bucks for JUST the master... this sorta ticked me off so I'd rather not get it from them.

I am also in dire need of a snorkel kit for a TJ engine .... but again the cheapest I have found is $200....

Well Let me know if anyone has either of these items they are willing to get rid of and by the way this sunday (11-09-03) me and a few friends will be getting together to knock out the rest of the wiring conversion for the TJ engine.

Let me know

If you're going to put a snorkel on your YJ with a TJ motor, you'll want the YJ snorkel. I don't think the TJ snorkel will fit your YJ because they're molded to fit the body of your jeep. You might have to run the intake hose of the snorkel across the engine compartment if the intake for the TJ motor is on the opposite side of the snorkel.....this is assuming that you're using an ARB snorkel, I don't know what the others are like.

I just thought of something.....if the intake for your motor is on the opposite side of the snorkel mabye you can do this, although it might be a little expensive, but who knows. Since ARB is an Australian company and I'm pretty sure the snorkels for the North American market are manufactured over there, mabye you can order a YJ snorkel from an Australian YJ which would have the steering on the opposite side. This is assuming that since the steering is on the opposite side of the vehicle, the intake is as well which would mean the snorkel is also on the opposite side. This way you can get a snorkel to fit your YJ and have it on the same side as your intake as well. The North American office for ARB is located in Seattle and they have a web site you can contact them through. Who knows, if they get their snorkels from Australia anyway, mabye there won't be any difference in price. It sounds like it might be more trouble than it's worth but it's just a suggestion.

Try NAPA for the master they are much cheaper than the Jeep Stealership. tug

What ever happened to...........

far right....35°40'N by 97°24'W

not but a jump from me brotha....

checked around $54 for a refurb one and $99 for a new... far cry from $180 at the "stealership" as tug put it....

I will have to get one this friday (payday) ... as for the snorkel... these suckers are pretty expensive no matter how you look at them....

i would rather put that money towards a winch than a snorkel...
guess it is just how you wanna look at it... getting thru it or winching out....

thanks fellas..

update on the jeep....we now have fuel....and this weekend we add the fire... (not that we are going too far without a master cylinder but anyway...
