New exhaust system

Well old man winter finally got a good swing in on the rolling pumpkin, Went snow drift climbing and high-centered the jeep on a drift (ya i know...dont yell at me).
Well the cold snow and hot exhaust didn’t mix, after sitting there for five minutes as my friends and I winched her off the drift there was enough of a thermo indifference with the lower exhaust sitting in the snow that I thermo-cracked my header, yes I have the dreaded TJ header crack.
Now I know this is a common TJ problem but for some fool arse reason I started thinking quick fix…I know they don’t work worth a darn but I was desperate (and broke). JB weld to welding everyone fails in less than a year…so
I opened the dreaded quadratec magazine to look into buying a new header, down tube and cat back system. What I would like from you guys is your honest opinions about manufactures of headers and cat backs. Since I will most likely go with a flow master muffler( love that sound).

I bought myself a banks, everything but the hedder. Sounds great, good power, nice big pipe all the way back. I admit, probably more pricey than the others... can't go wrong with stainless.

i like the sound of my flowmaster i havent looked to see if they actually make a specific kit for jeeps and i havent heard a borla on a jeep but dynomax and some others seemed a lil more quite than what i wanted just me lol

I don't know about the headers. I know you said that you'd probably go flowmaster on the muffler, but just something else to think about, Ive got a friend with a magnaflow muffler on his TJ that sounds good.

Not too educated on them (yet)...........so I'll be watching the poll and watching/listening to what you do. I cast my vote for "other" simply because I wanted to say "anything BUT the stealership"!!

Ive got a borla header with a borla muffler on the 4.0. Sounds deep but it's not too loud. Had a flowmaster 40 series on the jeep for awhile with the stock header and it had a real obnoxious sound to it. It was loud but it just didn't sound right to me. You want it loud, can't go wrong with straight pipes.

The header you get is the same or maybe a lil better than stock but not as good as borla and other aftermarket companies as far as flow goes.But it does look like it will stand the test of time and it's supposedly cheap on ebay.

Otherwise..if money isn't a big issue..go with borla or equivalent.
