No Four wheel drive???

I went out wheelin yesterday with a couple friends and found out that my front wheels were not turning. It's a '94 YJ. I know it has some sort of vacuum switch to lock the front end. Is there an easy fix for this problem?

OK, I answered my questions through the search. I want to know what kind of cable you are using on the homemade posi-lok set ups?

I use a heavy throttle cable from an airplane, it's the type with the button to release it or lock it in place, then turn the dial for fine adjustment.

I'd recommend using any solid cable for a push/pull type installation, so you don't have to rely on return springs. PTO or mower throttle cables would work.

In a pinch, you can remove the 4 bolts holding the vacuum disconnect in the front axle and install it upside down, holding the shift collar in the locked position. Works great.

Run the cable through the base of the shift fork in order to operate it.
