Well this is not a jeep, but I need Help. I have a95 1500 chevrolet pickup that started acting funny todat.. When I start it all the warnings,air bag,brake and check engine lights come on and the door buzzer sounds. After about 30 seconds it will work normal. The engine does not sound like it is idleing right. When I shift it into reverse, the engine dies. Sounds like it could be a computer problem, but I would like it to be something simple. I havn´t messed with a 95, but earlier models have a computer test socket up under the dash, and when two pins are jumped or you buy a jumper plug (mine was $5 at pep boys) the computer reads out the trouble codes. Check the manual for your year, to make sure.
I´ve had my 87, run rich at idle, was usually the 02 sensor, which didn´t show up on the trouble codes. Disconnecting my battery and reconnecting after an hour or so, would sometimes cure the problem (for awhile).
I once had a sticky idle motor and a corroded connector at the throttle position sensor, that caused idleproblems.
All the trouble lights staying on after the engine running is a new one on me, mine would shut off after a few seconds at run, except for the seatbelt light and the buzzer, if I forgot to buckle up.

I dont know if this helps much but I have a 93 Ford Explorer that is very similar... When I first start it is idles weird and then it just dies most of the time. I hear a hiss also though. Im sure its a vacume problem but I havent looked into it yet... Little busy. Good luck.[addsig]

well i ran a code scanner on it and it come up that the igniton switch is out. Looks like I will be taking it to a qualified mechanic for this one. I don't think I could work my way around the air bag :-( [addsig]

Yea i'd have a hard time explaining to all the guys at work where all the bruises and cuts came from. They would probbaly say looks like your ol lady wooped up on ya. Well anyways thanks for all the info. Till the next big problem. Later. [addsig]
