Performance Cam Install. Should I?

Well I have been sitting on this Mopar Performance Cam for a while and have been debating on whether or not to put it in. Anyone done this in the 4cyl? Is it worth it? How hard was it? I am super-mechanically inclined so I know how to do it. Just wondering if it is worth the hastle.

Thanks

Anything you can do to pump out an extra horse on the 4 banger is worth the doing in my way of seeing it. If youhave the parts and have the know how, why not giver a try. tug

believe it or not... the stock cam is quite a good cam as it is... it has a more aggressive grind than the 6 cyl cam does... but as for your question, if you have the extra money around, it can only help, and it's fun to do

Which cam did you get? I got the 256*/.450" one and it's sitting on my shelf too. A local jeep mechanic does a lot of side jobs, he quoted me $200 in labor and I think I'll take him up on it to save me the headache.

I've discovered I also need taller valve springs and different spring retainers. Might as well do a valve job and replace the timing set while you're in there. 4.0L double roller fits the 2.5L, get the one with 3 timing keys.

Just found out I have 3.07's

I put the .256 cam in my 97 and noticed a big difference in the upper power band. In conjuction with the 4.0 throttle body, spacer, and K&N, it now has much more power all the way through. The cam itself only took about 3 hours to install.

Raven, do you also belong to 4bangers United? I'm thinking I saw you over there long ago.
