The boyfriend owns two CJ 7's that he has built from the ground up and modified to be diesel. I am trying to do something special for him and buy him an air compressor to attach to his jeep so he can air up after coming off the trails. Does anyone have an opinion about which kind would be the best to buy and where I could get it?

Diesel in a CJ? Interesting. If he did the work work himself, BZ to him. As far as air compressors, a belt (engin) driven compressor will out perform any portable electric compressor on the market. But, with a engin driven compressor, it takes a little more work to use it. It's has to be installed, plumbed, and wired. Once in though, it can run any air tool's, (die grinders, inpacts, wrenches ect...) it'll "seat beads" and inflate tires much faster than electrics.

If you must get an electric, I hear that the "Quick-air" brand is good. (I have no personal experience with it though) Another tought is the "CO2" bottle (can't remember the darn name now) portable supply. It does really well! I've seen them in action and they, using CO2 , fill tires fast! aster than the "engin driven " compressors! They will also run air tools and such. (Drawing a blank on the damn name of the co2 tank!) Oh well. POWER TANK that's it! Look at the power tank, as another option.
