possiable sieze!!!! help me and give advice

on this would it be possiable to make it a v-6 and just get rid of that section or do i really need that combustion there to move the crank shaft?

if you was stuck in the woods taking gun fire on a fire truck....could you remove the rods and pistons from the front 2 and rear 2 pistons to make a ballanced v4. no one would but the question is could it be done

Glenn.....I seriously almost fell out of my chair just now! Of coarse you could, and you WILL soldier. We're in the heat of battle here, and that poor kitten is stuck in that there tree. You yank them pistons out....I'll provide cover fire!!

Best bet on your engine, sorry slow at catching up here. You tried the mystery oil, no luck. Now the question is rebuilding or replacing. Personally, I would replace. There are many things that may have gone bad from this and unless you plan on replacing everything new, I would not bother. My reasoning is simple. You now have cylinder scoring. This happens from metal to metal and as the rings got hot, they scratch and weld to the cylynder walls. You will find damage to the crank. This again is caused from the main and rod bearings getting hot and scoring the crank. This is the nice part. You will find many other things from cam to possible deck damage. Cheaper to get a good block and go from there.I seen someone said get a engine from the junk yard and I agree. If you can keep the old, break it down and use it as a learning experience. Remember to mark all caps and pistons on what hole they came from. If you don't, you get the real building experience, microing everything. Best of luck bud on which ever way you go.

update: Ive decided to get a used(great condition) amc 360. I figure why not just upgrade while I have the chance.

so, so far the old blown engine is out now all I have to do is put the 360 in.

Well hey, I want to wish you good luck, and let us know how it went when you're done.

What are you going to do for exhaust?
