President Bush lives in Dreamland!

Nah, Tugs a democrat and this problem revolves around money, he would just make it worse.(no offense tug)

The oil companies make what, 9 cents profit on a gallon of gas? The federal government makes 18.5(?) cents per gallon through taxes. My state collects even more than that. Where are the outraged politicians when that subject comes up? Which government program that YOU voted for are you willing to drop in order to allow those cuts. That money does afterall go towards buying our votes.

Are you all going to pitch in this year and buy me a vehicle that runs on alternative fuels? No? then shut up about it until you find an affordable solution. It's all just a bunch of feel-good talk at this point. There is plenty of cheap oil in the ground on our own land that could support us until we could slowly transition into alternatives. If you don't support going to get it... Then YOU are the problem. I bet half of you here that oppose POTENTIALLY hurting those animals habitat are also hunters, and I bet a couple of you would be proud to have one of their heads mounted over your mantle, but god forbid you agree to impose on their way of living just to help a fellow American...

Independant...blah, blah, blah. That's all fine and dandy to talk about on a message board, but how many of you are going to have the nads to actually cast that vote. I've been doing it for years, and quite frankly I'm tired of hearing it and never seeing it from others. Most people will go and cast their weak kneed across the board Dem or Rep vote and we will be right back here again. It's almost funny, if you step back and look at it with squinted eyes.

The marvel of all history is the patience with which men and women submit to burdens unnecessarily laid upon them by their governments.
-George Washington

This same man advised against splitting into political parties in the first place. I guess there is a reason his face is carved into the side of a mountain and printed on our national currency.
