PROJECT Diversion: '93 XJ Country

At some point I need to get some pics to show progress. Not much to show now so we'll just go with what has been done so far ...

(1) Rebuilt the front suspension. New UCAs and LCAs, replaced front wheel bearings. No springs or lift yet. Wanted to see what I was working with.
(2) Temporarily removed front sway bar.
(3) Rebuilt rear suspension. Replaced all bushings but left springs alone.
(4) Off came the rear sway bar.
(5) New KYB shocks front and rear.
(6) Recovery points front and rear: Draw-Tite w/ "D" ring.
(7) Airaid intake.
(8 ) PowerAid Throttle body.
(9) MagnaFlow muffler.

All done in the garage laying on my back.

Just purchased and plans for the next stage:

(1) UpCountry Springs (1" lift) for front.
(2) New leaf Springs (2" lift) for rear.
(3) Bar Pin Eliminators front and rear.
(4) Remove fender flares, wheel well liners and front and rear bumpers. Clean up and rust-proof.
(5) Remove and repaint grill, headlight trim and roof rack.
(6) Fender trimming front and rear. Add edge trim after cutting and painting.

After all that, we'll see what it all looks like them move on to larger tires/wheels for the low COG rig I've been thinking of. Pics will be showing up soon from the start of the project and steps along the way.

Have you figured out if or how to do a tummy tuck? With a low COG she'd be a belly dragger. Smooth belly pan maybe w/ nylon sliders? I would check out some lowriders for inspiration. I would do custom shock hoops and maybe even think about C notching the frame. Small airbags would be cheap and a good insurance policy. Always wanted a low slung bomber, best of luck.

I have a 93 Country that I am putting together. If you decide that you aren't going to hang on to any of the stock parts, please keep me in mind.

My direct email is chambershz at comcast dot net if you want to contact me.

Thank you,

John

When I get this project rolling, I will start a build thread with pics. Thanks for the input!

Got involved with some local folks, 1 in particular, who has been a BIG help in introducing me to the off-road community AND helping me with my build ... which changed significantly.

I do have a build thread started ... and pics. Afraid I'm not much of a photog, though.
