rear shock/spring bound

When I hit a speed bump, the front remains stiff like I want, but the rear sorta flexes through the whole leaf pack. I want the rear to be STIFF as hell. Think it's the cushy BDS shocks that came with my lift. Thinking about getting Trailmaster SSV shocks if that will help. Think I could put a 4" shock on my 3" lifted XJ and expect it to ride stiffer?

RE: WHAT LIFT TO GO WITH ON ,02-TJ???

what kinda lift? add a leaf or full spring pack? Any stereo equipment in the back?

If its a new spring pack and still plush, look for a heavy duty aftermarket spring pack. Something for towing. Or get better rancho shocks or something for the back with adjustablity.

I always like stiffer rides. Also, I hate the feeling of my axle hitting the bumpstops if at speed. I have a brand new leaf pack glide ride from BDS that came with my lift.
Think that putting a 4" lift Trailmaster SSV on my 3" lifted Jeep would help?

Wanna sell those cushy springs to me? I'd love them. You'll make enough to buy a set of rancho or Pro comp springs. They'll roughen ya up a bit.

I'm serious so let me know

If you want a firm shock don't get the SSV, get a nitro charged shock. Rancho 5000's should do it.

Rancho 5000 or ProComp ES3000 are both stiff riding gas-charged shocks.

There's something wrong with your setup if you're hitting your bumpstops under normal street driving. You should really only be contacting those when you're offroad and your axles are crossed up all flexy like.

RE: Re: TOP DOWN!!!

Well. I hit them if I hit a 3-sided speedbump at 40mph. My old Jeep never did this. This one sorta "bounces" in the back. And nope my BDS leafs are not for sale! They are brand new!!!! ;) I guess I'll look at some Rancho Nitro 5000s. Should I get normal length or 1" more?

That explains alot

Speed bumps are usually in place to try to get you to not do 40 MPH.

You should order your shocks for an XJ with 3" lift. www.gorancho.com should have a size chart and part # that you can get from any rancho dealer.
