replace ignition switch

Is it easy to replace an ignition switch on a 91 Renegade?

Not bad if your reffering to the electrical switch. If you are talking about the ignition tumbler(Mechanical) part, that's a different story.

Yeh, the mechanical tumbler is bad. I was wondering if I need special tools to disasseble the steering column, or should I just replace the whole column??

The only special tools that i can think of is a steering wheel puller and a lock plate compressor.
