replacing back window

My 2010 jk has a tear in the back window and my grandson gave me a new one [master top]

Are there any tricks to unzipping the old one? It hasn't been completely unzipped in over a dozen yrs. I can get it most of the way up the side but then nothing. I've been spraying the zipper with a kitchen cleaner but it hasn't seemed to help.

Yeah. Best done in the sun and the 70s or higher. Let the plastic stretch. Clean old teeth with toothbrush and soapy water. Nothing harsh.
To lubricate you could:
Rub a bar of soap on the teeth.
Rub candle wax on the teeth.

Check the zipper. If the isn’t meshing the teeth the back of the zipper may be spread or worn.
Caution if you pinch the back. These are weak and crack easily.

I bought new at some point before replacing the entire soft top

The top is original, only the window I hope to install is aftermarket. Currently the problem is getting the factory window is what I'm having problems with.

I'll try scrubbing the zipper with a tooth brush.
We've been having 70s for the high lately. I could put it in my barn/shop but unless I fire up the stove it takes until afternoon to get as warm as outside this time of year.
