Alright, so I just finished readin an article in a magazine on leaf spring suspension, and lookin up aobut revolver shackles. hypothectically, I'm not looking for much lift, just a very responsive suspension while keeping it spring under. Does anyone have suggestions on kits with minimal lift, but maximizing the leaf system? and would incorporating revolver shackles into it but a good idea, or just stick to whats in the box? I've never own a wrangler before, but built my lift kit for my cherokee, so looking for the professional advice on the best plan here. All discussion is helpful.
Thanks

You will read mixed reviews on revolvers on the web, some hate them but most like them. I used them in the rear of my YJ and they worked fine.

Remember with leaf springs that flat springs work the best, they flex equally well up and down. Arched leaf packs tend to ride stiffer and don't compress as well.

Start with disconnecting the sway links(tie them up) and then maybe consider a disco kit if you like the results.
I removed mine off on my tj and left them off. But most people don't know how to drive without them. It does take some getting use to. So be careful when they are off.

I have been running 4.5 RE springs and Revolvers at all four corners for about 5 years now, without issue.

I say no to revolvers. I wonder if I can find my old debate on that one...

X2; I considered them as well, but decided on Boomerang shackles in the rear instead... I'd have to find all the reviews I found, but basically, it came down to the fact that (according to the sites; never did get a chance to test them personally!) they are only good for RTI scores and not trail riding... But I'd listen more to someone who actually had them, as this is based on someone else's (whoever was taht wrote on the sites) opinion.

Vote no.. when trying to climb a hill or obsticle, they will load and unload allowing your tires to loose traction.
