Should i be smelling gasoline

I have a 94, check the tank!!may need a new gasket for the sending uunit/pump to tank, my sending unit assy was rusting pretty bad, so i cut out a 1" wide ring out of 1/4" sheet metal, drilled the screw holes out, got longer screws, and went to the dodge dealer and got gas tank sealant and put it between the plate i made and the old unit, bolted it down and then covered it all in the sealant. I dd this over 5 yrs ago and have not had a single problem with it since, as far as im concerned it was MUCH better (cheaper) than buying a new unit!

Culprit found. And Jeezus do I feel like an idiot. There was no effing gas cap on.

Told you it was in the rear... Of course, I did not think of something as obvious and simple!
