Soft top treatment

I was wondering what i can use to treat my soft top.

Got our first real snow fall today and when i got in the jeep i seen all little water droplets on the inside, guess it soaked threw. For now i put a tarp over the top till I figure out what can be done for a permanent fix.

might just be condensation. My old top was 10 years old, always out side and water never penetrated the material. You might have a hole somewhere or a threaded seam pulling apart.

That is really odd to say the least. How old is your top and is it sail cloth or regular? I have had zero issues with my sail cloth.

97 tj I believe it is the original top. After looking closer it could have been condensation. It still did it even with a tarp on it.

Is there any kind of treatment that i should do on my top though. It looks to be good shape. There is 1 small hole which i did a small patch job on woth some silicone and duct tape.

The only "treatment" I can think of really only helps for fading.

If it is the original from 97 my advice is invest into a new sail cloth top. I have the original white soft top from 98, and it is thin compared to my sail cloth and heck of a lot louder to boot.

Reg Replace-a-top

Sail Cloth

Newer tops seem to just be built better then older tops.

Thanks for the info...Anyway to tell if it is sail cloth?

Will have to wait for spring before i have the money to replace it.I have more problems with the uppers on my doors leaking all around the zipper.Need to replace them first.

Believe Bestop kits can come with upper door skins too. The sailcloth is just a little thicker and heartier then the older stock tops. If I had to buy another top I would probably just go with the reg replace-a-top and pocket that extra 100 bucks. Bestop makes some pretty quality tops, so you can't go wrong either way.
