Spine count on my chrlyer 8.25

Dose anyone now Wat spine I have in my 96 xj classic or how I would find out about it other then taken the axle out and counting it u know it either 27 or 29 cuz I'm trying to order lockers and gears for it but rite now it a daily driver so I really didn't want to do a diff service on just to figure out when I would have to do it again once I get the gears and lockers for it any help will be great if it matter the production date is 10/96 if that help out

96 will be the 27. 98 the up is 29 with some 97s having 29.

I would try to find a newer diff and take the shafts.

Could be either my old 96 was 29 spline. Get the numbers off the axle tag and find someone who can tell you what they mean. Several on here can, I'm not one of those.

Well my tag got ripped off by the first owner so my other question is r they c clip in or nah if not then I will just pull them out and count then

So u tell m that 29 with fit in the 27 or do I got to change out everything

You can put 29 spline axles shafts in the 27 spline housing (they are the same) you just need to swap the spider gears or put in a locker.
