I have a '99 TJ 2.5L. One morning I went to start it, and it made that ticking noise like my battery was dead. I started it giving it gas and it slowly came to life. It ran rough at idle at first then just starting running fine. It does this every time after its been sitting for a little bit. The longer it sits, the longer it takes to start. You can also smell the gas while its starting up. Once its started and you rev it up, if makes a weird noise. The best I can describe the noise is it sounds like blowing into a drink through a straw. I know its not the battery, starter, or alternator. I'm thinking its something to do with the throttle or injectors. Anyone know what it could be or experienced this before?
