Steel or Fiberglass Tub??

Hey guys I see no mention of aluminum tubs. I got a Matkins tub with 1/4" thick sides. All you need is argon gas for your wirefeed. Mods and repairs are then easy.

Steel rots period. Why do you think there are so many fiberglass tub manufacturers out there? A good tub will take alot before it cracks. But a snap to repair.

Not many rocks around here - trees and mud. Who drives these up here in the salt winter roads anyway.

It's a Chevy vs Ford question anyway.

Don't know how to put pics on here so I can't show you mine.

Anybody want a rusted CJ5 tub for free?

Considering the OP lives in AZ it is a fair assumption that rock crawling is pretty much what their wheeling terrain will be. I agree with 73CJ that for all other types of wheeling, trails, mud, sand, snow, etc. a fiberglass tub will work very well. My fiberglass tub is now 20 yrs old and still looks very good, but it has not seen much rock crawling in that time.
I have several friends who have aluminum bodies and just polished the tub instead of painting them and they look real nice.
