Is superwinch any good? I have been looking for a winch forever now and I really want one but Im tight on money. Ive found some good deals on superwinch 10000 lbs and im thinking about one of those.

Thanks

Never had any issues with mine and I know a ton of people who run them and love them.

mine has been reliable lots of use on it,a little on the slow side motor gets loud and hot when under heavy load, still pulls hard after 3 yrs of abuse

no problems so far with my EPi 9.0... Actually, I am quite happy with it. For a little light reading, I recommend you look up the "Winches in Hell" article that came out some time ago...

My Superwinch 9,000 has been good to me.They are made in CT!

Really? Mine said China on the box. I really like my EPi9000! It performs well. I had to winch a dead YJ out of SOS at the Hammers. It tooks us three hours of continuous dead winching. What I like is it doesn't have the solenoid packs like other winches have. It has a solid state relay.

Some winches are made in CT. I toured the plant a couple years back with Rubiconrich, some of the entry level winches are sourced from china to remain competitive in that market. and yes, having the selenoids in my warn crap out all the time.. sure like the superwinch design.

Warn, Ramsey and Superwinch are all top tier winches to my way of thinking. These have been around for a long time and have proved themselves over and over.

As for where they are "made," I just had this conversation with the folks at Warn a few weeks ago. While they claim their Warn and Tabor winches are made in the U.S.A., they source their parts from vendors throughout the world. So, while a particular unit may be assembled with foreign-made components, those components still have to meet and pass Warn's specifications and quality standards. Being assembled here gives them tighter reign over Quality Control than most typical import winches.

From what I've seen there seems to be some validity to that.

As a note for anyone considering a Ramsey winch...this bit of information may effect service and support down the road:
