are the stock sway bar connectors all junk from the factory on wranglers or am I just a lucky one? what would you all suggest I go to when I replace them? I have a 2000 TJ.

RE: Where are you?

Hey, welcome to Jeepz.

They commonly fail at the upper connection. I recommend JKS 'Quicker' disconnects for an upgrade. www.jksmfg.com/quicker_disconnectsTJ_XJ_ZJ.htm

thanks bounty_hunter, will have to go to something like that, kinda wanna put a 4" lift under it and go with the quick disconnects when I do, wanting to run 33" , will 4" be enough lift to fit 33's under it?

RE: Where are you?

33's will slide very nicly under a 4' lift. I would recomend that you hold off buying your disconnects till you get your 4 lift since you will have to get longer ones for it though

I used a 3.5" BDS lift and am running 33" tires. I completely removed the sway bar over two years ago.

TJ or YJ? I wouldn't recommend it for a TJ

I don't run one on my YJ :p

Cherokee wipers

We did, but the original poster of this thread has a TJ, and cewtwo was recommending deepsixing the swaybar.

Very true Bounty! I have removed my rear sways but I have gotten lasy about climbing under my TJ to 'Disco' them. And yes I do notice it when I turn...I still keep my front attached till I am off roading.
There is far less considerable weight in the rear to give you too much front end dive when you turn. As long as you know it happens and you dont try to drive a lifted jeep like a sports car removing your rear sways on coil type of suspention isnt that bad. I dont tow anything that I would need them any way.

I've always read that removing the rear swaybar on a TJ gains you no articulation or other performance enhancement. True in your case?

Sorry!! My Jeep is the Mighty YJ! That's why I just removed it. Still have the lower parts of the discos on it, though...

I did notice that I had alot more articulation but I have a long arm kit on the jeep so that could be the case. there is little to no improvment to the off-roading when I took them off since I had rear discos already. Driving on the street is fun...I HAVE to slow down to take turns but as I have said I am getting older, wiser and lazier (is that a word?) so I s**t cannned them a while ago. For my two cents they were worthless.
