Thick mud!!!

I got a quick general question, after a hard muddin day should I preasure wash the underneath of my Jeep right away, I was told that mud can really do some damage to the differential and other things...side note: this is Sedona mud very clayish thick sticky stuff. Thanks!

For me personally, I spray off the moving parts right away. But I've learned that if it's real thick mud, I let it dry first then chip away at it with a flathead screwdriver and remove the large chunks with my hands and dispose. Then spray off the leftover. My driveway really appreciates it as well as the local car wash owner.. Lol
