Time for new winch.

Well after 3 years of abuse and overheating my superwinch lp8500 has gave up. Looking at the warn 9.5 xp or 9.5 cti. Anyone have either of these winches. Anyone got the good the bad and the ugly.

Personally have the Smittybuilt XRC-8 which performs amazingly with my TJ. If u need or want something with more power than that they make their competition grade winches. i broke the selector level on it and smittybuilt sent me a new one no questions asked.

I dunno they sound ok. But I need the reliability factor. I'm in the bush for week at a time. Often it's just me the dog and a rifle lol

I have the XRC8, it's been through hell, never over heated, pulls like a SOB, and was cheap ! Love it, for the price difference I don't think I'd buy a warn ever again, plus smittybuilt founders are guys who used to work at warn and didn't like the price point, so they made their own

Thanks for the tips. Still lookin at a warn though. I've had a few off brands and none have been reliable enough for me.
