transfer case problems

well to start it off ive got an old 207 in there. 4HI doesnt work, 4LOW clicks and makes noises, and not to mention it whines in all of them including 2wd. is there anything i can do to fix it or should i just replace it with a 231? thanks all in advance

Replacing the fluid may buy you a little time, but I'd start looking for a 231. You will need to find one that was used behind the same transmission and close to the same year so the input shaft will be the same. If you can't find the right 231, the input shaft can be swapped from the 207 to the 231.

yeah i know i need a 21 spline but i thought it would bolt right up no problem?
