Transmission slave cylinder problems

I have a '93 YJ 4-cylinder with a 5-speed manual transmission. I have had to replace the transmission's slave cylinder 4 times in the past 2 - 2-1/2 years. Has anyone else had a similar problem or have any idea of what might be causing the problem? My mechanic and I have run out of ideas on what might be causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is the clutch a "performance" one with a heavy pressure plate? If so it could be to much pressure to release the clutch, therefore killing the slaves....
