Does anyone own / know of anyone that owns BF Goodrich Mud Terrains. If so, how many miles did they get out of them?

I hear many jeepers talking 50,000 miles with regular rotation. It's one of the longer lasting treads.[addsig]

Go with the M/T, the A/T's become racing slicks with a lil mud. They pack too easy. I know a few guys running them.[addsig]

AT vs MT is all about what you are going to be doing with your Jeep. If you go off the road once in a blue moon and then only on soft trails ATs are your choice. If you are serious about your trail riden the mudd ruts rocks and roots you will need you to get the MT's. One is better off road one is better on the road both will get the job done. Tug[addsig]

A little input:
I am not one to blast a product and will only comment if I have first hand experience, with that being said. My partner and I had several long discussions about tires. Using them for 80% on road (Dry, wet and snow) and 25% off road (Rock crawling and desert sand) we decided to buy different tires at the same time. He went with the BFG Mud terrains and I went with the Goodyear MTR's, both 33x12.5x15. When they were first installed there seemed to be no noticeable difference. Cost was about the same, although I lucked out and received a $25.00 per tire rebate (5 Tires= $125.00 rebate, I liked that) The performance seemed equal with no road whine, tracked straight, handled fine, soft as mud terrains can get, snow and wet performed satisfactory (Note. No testing was done in the mud) and off road dirt and rock traction was impressive (Sidewalls on the MTR's had a little grip advange with a little argument we both agreed). Plus they both looked cool (Quote from the kids) After about 10k mikes the BFG's started to get louder (Highway whine) and look a little dull (also a quote from the kids) and at 20k the BFG's had a noticeable wear pattern forming. We had both rotated the tires at the same 3k mile intervals, but the MTR's still look clean and relatively new. (Easy to compare to the new spare still hanging on the back) At 25k the BFG's were done, and a new set was installed. As of now, I have 30k on my MTR's and they still look and perform fine.

I do agree that the different way we both drive has a lot to do with the tire life, and Quinners picture is a great example of hers. BFG's are a great tire and you can't go wrong, but my money is on the MTR's (Unless something new comes along when it’s time for new shoes)
