My parents got a 1997 TSI Grand Cherokee from friend of ours with a V8, 5. something i think, i was just wondering, b/c i'm not up to date with ZJ's what the TSI means? It is a purple pin stripe across the car. Thanks for the help.

Tune sport injection?

I've seen them before, never really wondered.

good question

Well don't you feel special...LOL good Job PA.....Even though your a roundie....:)

Its a 5.2 liter. I've seen the Tsi mark on talons before but they had turbos in them too, i guess it has to do with the injections then. I'll tell ya that Grand Cherokee has some speed and acceleration behind it.

on the grand cherokee forum... (the exact link to the page wont cut and paste) but if you go to the page, enter grand forum then enter general, you should see a post called TSI. it might be helpful? if you can't find it on there let me know and i'll look it up for you. :)

in the Grand Forum a couple of people said it felt like the TSI had a lil more power, on autotrader.com i compared the TSI with the Larado and Limited, all with the 4.0, and they all had the same power 185HP, no i am not saying that they are false or anything but according my research they all have the same horsepower, torqe(sp?), pretty much the same everything just diffrent packages, o and the TSI and Limited have 225/70/16 and the Larado has 215/70/15

Yeah I've got a 1990 Talon TSI in addition to my TJ. I've seen the TSI editions of the Grand and always wondered if the TSI meant something different since they don't have a turbo. They sure are fast though

The ZJ TSI has the 5.9L motor, only package available that had that large of an engine.
