Warn Winch Remote Cable

Hi... stealing away some precious internet time. I just bought a warn winch for my TJ for a really good price ($650) but it has one problem, the remote cable is about 50ft long! The guy had it mounted on a multiple car trailer so I could see the function in the length for him... but for a Jeep it's a little much to keep coiled up. What should I do? it doesn't seem to have any screws holding either side together. Should I cut & splice at one end and shrink tube it, or just invest in another remote?

The question is, how much do you want to spend to fix this problem. I would just cut to size and solder the wires. Then shrink tube the wires and the whole entire section with a larger shrink tube. This fix should be fine.

if a controller is inexpensive, you could try to cut and soder the wires. if it didn't work you could replace the controller.
