What Kind of tires?

you might be able to fit something like a procomp 32" tire on there cause thats not a true 32. i have a 2" lift and 31" dunlops. but keep in mind, if you're keeping the stock wheels, you'll have to get a narrow 32, you would with a tire that size anyways just because you might run into rubbing issues.

and you ask what kind of tires.... what are you looking for? radials? mudders? at's?

When did I become a 'rollover waiting to happen'?

Im acaully going to add 1.75" coil spacers to that kit as well to make it 4.47 of lift (can i do that, and is that a good idea?)

im looking for a tire that i can use for everyday driving, but also are great in the mud (i dont plan on doing any rock climbing)

Does anyone have anything to say about the Goodyear wrangler MT/Rs? My brother has those and they seem pretty nice for all around stuff

Any feedback would be helpful, I have had this jeep for 4 years, but i dont really know anything about making it good for off the road

the mt/r's are great tires, lots of bite off road and great tread wear on it, you cant go wrong with them

RE: When did I become a

can i get the MT/Rs in a 30"-32"

and are the 1.75 coil spacer a good idea to get a total of 4.75"?

you can get mt/r's in any size your heart desires.... pretty much. you can add the spacers to 3" springs, and then you could fit 33's easily actually. only problem is, you'll have a lot of other issues. unfortunately to lift a zj that high, it gets costly. you'd need longer control arms, brake line extensions, t-case drop, sye would be a good idea, and thats probably not all you'd need. my advice, is go with the 1.75" spacers, or go with the 3" springs, or be prepared to do a lot more work if you're going to combine them.

the best way to get that much lift, but very costly, is get the 4.5" long arm kit from a company like rubicon express.

if you want great in the mud, go with mudders, but understand your every day driving will suffer. it'll be louder for starters, and poorer handling in the snow. but good tires if you want them for mudding.

not to start a war, because currupt might have had good personal experience with the goodyears, but i've seen many a write up that say for the money, the kumho mt's are the best you can buy. i'll see if i can find one of the online write ups for you. i only mention this because the goodyears are considerably more expensive than say kumho's or dunlop's. (i run dunlops, and have had good luck with them, the tread is nearly identical to the kumho's, check them out on www.tirerack.com)

RE: Winsheild channel hardware for Bestop...a question.

so if i go with just the 3" lift would i have to do all that other stuff? i was planning on getting new control arms from rustys, but i dont think i want to spend for all that other stuff

I think im going to go with 31" goodyear MT/Rs becaseu i have a friend who has a practicly prand new pair that she is going to sell me for 250$ total

Can i fit those on my car before i lift it? prolly not but just wondering

Sorry, i guess that was a rookie mistake

But since i already messed up i may as well continue, I cant fit those 31's under my 94 ZJ before I lift it can I?

RE: Lets See Each Others Cardomain Sites!

Your 3" lift will clear 31's well. If you're going to add coil spacers you are going to need longer control arms and a transfer case lowering kit to level out the driveline, among other possible things as Bchcky mentioned. Honestly the step up to 32's would not be worth all the extra work involved in extending the lift you are looking at beyond 3", you'll only get 1/2" more ground clearance from 1" bigger tire. To do a 32 or 33" tire a complete 4-5" lift would be a better route, and probably save you money buying a complete kit that includes arms, brake lines, TC drop, etc.

Rusty's makes decent products, but even 3" of lift with stock control arms and no driveline mods is probably pushing the limit a bit.

Do the 3" with 31's or pick a bigger kit.

I had them and I liked them alot. I didnt do a whole lot of difficult trails with them but for everyday driving and some offroading they worked great for me.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the tires. I have some 31" MTR's on my XJ and I love them. Good traction in everything I've thrown at them so far - mud, rain, pavement, rock. Strong sidewalls and so far good treadwear. Haven't had any measurable snow yet though :(

well tc, we've had plenty of good snow up in new england so far, and mudders are fun... if you know what you're doing. my commute is only 10 minutes to and from work, but this time last year it was an hour each way, so i'm glad it didnt snow as much here last year cause those tires would have been tricky.

dont worry about it, no harm in starting a new thread.

but no, i wouldnt put the 31's under there before you put the lift in. which way are you leaning now though? 3" or 2"?

i really think i want the 3"

but can you tell me (in a nutshell) what else i will have to put on after the lift kit?

I know i will need new shocks, and a stearing stabilizer, but thats all i know :(

well, i have a 2" lift on my zj, you might want to ask someone with more, but i'm thinking it'll be close on the brake lines, so you may need extensions. and you'll probably want a 1/2-1" t-case drop to even out the drive line. other than that, if you're going to run 31's (my recommendation with 3") then you should be fine.
