what next

Sway bar disconnects....or a cb or tow hooks front and rear for recovery.

Sully is right... the first things you should do in preparation for offroad are swaybar discos and recovery points

a HUGE:

NO FEAR STICKER!!!

Just kidding, do that and they will kick you out of here!

I have been in the same boat as you, and could not agree more with the others.
Here has been my list:

1) High Lift -$65
2) CB - $90
3) Security Boxes (to hide faceplates, documents) $100
4) Tow straps $40
5) Axe & Shovel $50
6) Fire Extinguishers $60
7) sway bar disconnects $125
8) Oh SH*T grab handles $25
9) And as many bushings as you can get to!

A few other minor things that a jeep must have also: tool kits, torx bits, duct tape!

Luckily I bought my TJ with 31" tires....... I have been saving for the lift and then will do tires.

Oh I almost forgot, you need some type of figurine to guide the way, you know, like an old GI Joe figure mounted on hood, an Alf hanging off the rollbar, a barbie scantily clad on the dashboard.... just something!

Mine happens to be a tiki guy on the dash, he is supposed to be good luck i guess!

He is an old ghost busters toy.

RE: Re: 4wd on pavement, now what...

Make some disconects for the front trac-bar, ditch the rear trac-bar, and put on some GOOD, solid tow points in the front and the rear.

Total price for all of that should be about 5-10 bucks....and definatly a must!

RE: Re: I feel the need...

Is that Jerry Seinfeld?

RE: Preparing for the

Jerry Seinfeld played in Ghostbusters? That must have been the one I didn't see. The one where they fight against nothing

The essentials for any budget jeep: Duct tape, bailing wire, zip ties. For a while I wheeled my cj with a bailing wire, duct tape and zip tie clutch linkage.
