I've had this Jeep for 10 years and I would like to find the best custom shop to give it a complete make over - any recommendations? I will use it mostly for street driving. In California would be best. I want paint, new accessories and interior - make it as good as a show jeep. Yeah - I know do it myself - but I've got more money than time... Somewhere there has to be a reputable garage!!?

RE: Let

You're own garage! Do it yourself a little at a time and learn as you go if needed. You'll save a bundle of loot and be able to take all the credit.

Try county gear would most likely set something like that up if you give them an idea of what you want. I'd jump right on and do it but I dont have the experiance or time.

RE: ```````For sale in NE Ohio````````

Something to consider:......I'd try to line up a different shop to perform each step in the buildup. A do-it-all shop is great....as long as they house specialists in each aspect of vehicle repair, but a shop like that is really expensive and you still have all your eggs in one basket. You'll get the better end result with letting a person who specializes in a certain field handle that part of your buildup, then moving on to another specialist to handle the next step. Choose your shops wisely.....there are many horror stories out there of unfinished, overbudget, baskets of parts being returned to owners after a builder has gone out of business.

After your edit, I see you meant more in the way of cosmetics...

RE: Possible New Lift Questions

How about hiring me! Buy me a plane ticket and fly me over to the west coast, buy what you want installed, I wil put it in for a very good price! And if you have even more money than that, I am not going to object to adopting me! I am sure my wife wouldn't mind giving me up for a while!

.......

Honestly, welcome aboard.. I woudl normally say do it yourself but you said that is not a option.... then look for a reputable company! a lot of times the small shops will give a slightly higher price but the work will be a lot better quality!

RE: Best TJ gas mileage ever!

Spread it out. Look at jeeps like yours that have modifications and make a list of things you would like to be put on your jeep. Axles, lockers, lifts, gears, skid plates, bumpers, ect ect. Check out cardomain.com or ebaymotors.com and take a good look at those jeeps. Write down what you like then give the list to someone. Ask questions about parts. And pretty soon you will be building the jeep. Also, what do you plan on doing with it?
