2 part question.

1st- Has anyone heard of the Warn Tabor 9000lb winch.
It is listed at $500 free shipping on e-bay new in box.

2nd- What kind of winch in this price range would be best for thew money.
I've been seeing Mile marker and Ramsey's in this range. The winch will be used but not every weekend.

I have the mile marker on my jeep it works ok but if you dont use it alot the lever to free wheel it will stick

Any new winch in that price range will be comparable, most are imports with similar specs. They vary a little in HP but that's about it.

I would go with the Tabor knowing what I do about Warn and thier customer service/support.

Re: Winch ? A few facts

A few facts about the Warn Tabor 9 K

Its rated at 9000 lbs, its a series wound motor meaning it draws a slightly higher amperage than a permanent type, best to use dual batteries if your going to do a lot of winching with it. But it is designed as an occasional use winch. so watch how much you use it per hour. ( sorry I cant find its duty rating, most likely its 33% duty, meaning you should run it no more than 20 minutes per hour). Its line speed is 27.7 Ft/min unloaded. I believe it comes with 10 foot or a 12 foot remote since Warn offers both. Quadratec offers it for 549$

The local shop near where I live is going to stop selling Ramsey's and only carry Warn for some reason. They have a clear out price on the Ramsey Patriot Profile 9000's for $699 Canadian....works out to about $600 US.
