Windshield wiper problem

Hi everybody. I have a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited, and my windshield wipers just stopped working the other day. First it was the passenger side, then the driver side. My local Goodyear manager said that he called the dealer here in town and they told him he would have to order a completely new motor, and wiper armatures in order to fix it. This is my first Jeep and I will admit that I know NOTHING about Jeeps. Is what the Goodyear guy saying true or is it a ploy to get more money? Please advise. Thanks in advance!

I would ask to see the broken part I don't see why you would need a new arm if the motor is bad unless they are getting some after market that won't work with your arm. Also kinda weird to have 2 motors go bad. Seems more like a wire issue to me.

I can't say wipers are a regular problem.

Is there a jeep club in your area? You might ask them for help in verifying the issue.

I fix almost all my own issues cause many shops either don't know what they are doing or break more than they fix.
And they certainly aren't afraid to spend your money.

Goodyear sells tires! Not a recommended option for repairs.
Your issue sounds like wiper linage NOT an armature.
Are you going to repair or have a professional technician work this?

inspect before replacing - loose bolts are common -
