Wrangler Lift Question

I'm new to the lifting world of jeeps. I have a 94 yj. Seriously wanting to put some stock 16 inch rubicon wheels and tires on it. I guess my question is how much of a lift would I have to put on it??? I'm thinking 3 inches, or would that still be too little? and another question is would putting spaces work or should i get a suspention lift? again these might be dumb questions but just looking for some input...preciate it guys and gals.

2.5"-3" will be enough lift to clear the Rubi's 31" tires.

There is no 'spacer' lift for a YJ, spacers are generally for coil spring jeeps. Your options are a suspension lift or body lift, or combination thereof. Installing TJ fender flares is another option for more tire clearance.

installing just some TJ flares should give you the clearence for stock rubi wheels and tires assuming your stock springs are in good shape.

not the best Idea.. simply in my opinion, a 1" body lift should be the max.2&3" lifts put a lot of lateral stress on the body mounts. Plus it just look damn goofy. Other people can chime in with their opinion, but that is mine.

another option not listed.. you could run lift shackles. a shackle that is 2" longer than stock (about 1" lift) would be fairly easy to install, inexpensive, and shouldn't effect the ride quality. I would still say the TJ flares being the least expensive and most beneficial.
