Kentrol roll bar add on install ??

well -- i bought the 1988 wrangler with a 4 cyl. Test drove it several times -- everything seemed good.

But -- now it doesn't start. Battery seems charged. It just clicks whenI turn the key. It started with a push. Would that mean that the starter is bad? If a jeep starts with a slight push -- is it usually the starter that is bad? Solenoid? battery? Is there a way to figure out what is bad? I dont have all the toys that a mechanic has.

if you are only hearing the soilnod clicking when trying to start that means one of two things.
1. there isnt enough power getting to the starter. this could mean a short, bad wires and/or connections or a dead battery.

2. the starter soilnod is bad. this is a part of your starter and it is cheaper to replace just the soilnod rather than the entire starter.

hope this helps ya. i am sure that others can add to this as well. good luck.

It's either the starter solenoid or bad connections at the battery terminals. Start with the battery.

Congrats on getting the '88 YJ.

yeah.. i would start by cleaning the batter terminals and making sure they are bolted tightly
