Wrong Carb

being the newbie that i am, i just realized that i have installed a motorcraft 2100 carb on my rig, and not the 2150 like i ordered and thought. I was looking at some pictures online tonight and confirmed my mistake (or carbcareusa.com's mistake) Anyway, now that ive realized this, I just want to know if there are any differences between the 1.08 2100 and the 1.08 2150. Seems to work right, but now i feel a little lost under my hood. Like most of you, i hate it when i dont know whats going on behind my grille. Thanks and sorry again

2150s have a high-speed pull-over system, and some 2150s have variable high-speed air bleeds. 2100s don't have either of these. The high-speed pull-over system in the 2150 allows the engine to run better at mid-range engine speeds. Some models of the 2150 use variable hsa bleeds. These can be tuned to improve mid-to-open throttle enrichment based on throttle position, and independent of engine loading. The 2150 is just a revised 2100 design. The major parts are the same between the two carbs.

Both carbs in the 1.08 version are 287cfm.

what web sites did you find that let you know the difference? I only ask because I am getting ready to purchase from them and want to make sure I get what I ask for.

k. so does this mean that my jeep isnt going to go as fast on the highway with the 2100 as it would with a 2150?

The cfm rating is from memory, so I could be wrong. The info on the air bleeds is something I found on a Ford message board.....don't have a link or even remember the name, sorry. There is lots of info on this carb on the internet. The 2100 was developed in the mid fifties and evolved into the 2150, it has quite a loyal following among 2 barrell enthusiasts. Your Jeep will run fine with the 2100. The improvements made to the 2150 were done strictly for driveability and ease of tuning issues, not power production.

you should contact the company and let them know about the mistake.
they might not be willing to send you the proper one, but they should refund the diffrence and try to make things right.
