YJ Engine Problems ???

I had a bad muffler and changed it today. While I was at it, I figured I would go ahead and change the Cat conv since I was done there along with a new O2 sensor. My problem is after I installed this the wrangler idles at 1300+ rpm's, then drops down and tries to idle around 600 rpm's every couple of minutes it goes back and forth and sometime stalls out and hard to start. The check engine light is now on and the engine tempature runs a little hotter than before. I changed the distributor, cam position sensor, plugs, wires, cap & rotor, and manifold gasket. There does not seem to be a vaccum leak that I could find. What am I missing? Any ideas? Confused! :-?

sometimes if you go switching all those sensors and such, you're best bet is to unplug the battery for a few minutes to clear all the memory in the ECU (computer) and then plug it back in and start it up. usually works fine after that... [addsig]

Thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestions and I also re-installed the old O2 sensor but no good. Still barely runs. Do problems with the MAP and Crankshaft Position Sensor cause this?[addsig]
