I've been noticing a loud poping noise comming from my jeep when I make the change from the street into a drive. It only does it if I go through at an angle and am carrying a little speed. Just wandering if anyone else has experenced this or if you have any ideas as to what it could be, sorry for the vauge description but at this point I'm not sure what else to say

Don't be afraid to crawl under and have a look could be a number of things bad shock.swaybarlinks, tierods, look for worn parts. When was the last time front end was lubricated?[addsig]

Not a bad idea there... Being that its the front end, there are a lot more things that it could be. But since you say it only happens when you approach a driveway from the street, it is most likely the suspension... like mentioned, it could be a number of those things. My friend had his swaybar mount broke... it had a similar symptom... but it was in the rear... it would make a pop when it would catch something upon articulation... if it is a broken shock... its not tough to replace. if anything else is broken, its probably not going to be fun.... Oh yeah... another thing it could be is a broken body mount. If your mount is broke, it can make a pop every time it flexes... and there is a great chance of flex when approaching bumps at an angle. Check down there and let us know what you find out.[addsig]

Sounds like a sway bar link to me as well, if it is, I recommend you replace them with disconnects (if you take your Jeep off road). You'll get more articulation while tearing up the trails, and not have to worry about driving back wothout a sway bar Rob

Try putting it up on jack stands, with the front tires about four inches off the ground, take a four foot 2X4 or other sutible prying device and have a buddy lift up under the tire (up and down moderatly). Look closely at the ball joints, if there is any movement up and down, it´s time for a change.[addsig]
