YJ?...TJ

Right on, right on!!! Tennessee Pinstripes, I love it!!! You are one of the few, the proud, a true member of the Jeepers seal team!!!! I'd be panic struck if I trashed something I paid that kind of change for. Hence the old CJ.

Personally I bent the bows of my soft top leaning on trees to slither up and around them on inbankments. Cut a 15 inch cresent in my radiator dragging a Bronco on 38's up a stair case. The fan can be evil when flexed. Crushed a hole in my oil filter making it to the top of one of our ATV hills? Got many comments of passer-by-ers "You drove that up here?" New motor mounts are seriously needed.

No dents,.......... but I am good, what can I say. :p

Honestly you and I sound like we'd have blast playing on the trails. We could spend all day challenging those other folks. Kinda like horse. You make it, I have to follow, if I fail I get a point/letter. (Won't and Can't count the same.) You get one pass to make it, if not, it's the next guys turn to lead. We used to do that on 4x4 4wheelers. Absolute blast!!

Where in Tenn, are ya?? I am getting the Jones to do some wheelin!!! (Although I couldn't fathom a ten hour ride in my CJ  ) (Advantege TJ)

Thanks to all of you! I appreciate your time and energy with this post. I think I will stick to the YJ. When I test drove a TJ it just didn't seem the same to me, so I wanted to delve more into the technical aspects of both.I loved my 88, but will try and find a 94 or 95. (Yes i definately don't need to deal with any more carb problems!) It sounds as though everyone had a fun time as well with this post, glad my inquiry could offer some laughs.
Thanks again! ~E

I go to have a good time and that is usually what I get. There is a good hill climbing spot near me (in the middle of town) that I want to try. I can't usually try those hills, since I have no one with me. One of these days I will get some folks to go with and we will play for a while :) Maybe next time I go to Shreveport we can hook up for some AZ riding.

Congrats on the choice, after all you're the only one that really matters.

AZ?? Your mean AR??

I could handle a meeting that close. I too only wheel to have fun not to break schtuff. Sometimes my balls are bigger then my brains or my Jeeps capabilities. But it's always fun. But best when you make it home with good laughs and stories, and not a hugh tow bill and fix it list. Money on mods not repairs.

LOL AR is even closer WOOHOO. ;) Just went out to Bodcau last weekend. I was looking for Local (or close to local) on the Events board.

If you can choose between the '94 and '95, the only difference is late '95s will have the TJ engine (different throttle body and serpentine belt routing) and most all '95s have the larger 297x front axle u-joints, same as the D44 axles. '94 and older YJ's have the weaker 260x front axle ujoints. Small differences.

No, just different. My '95 2.5L TB had a vacuum port and threaded holes at the base where the MAP sensor is mounted on TJ's, but my port was capped and the MAP was on the firewall like all other YJ's. It's the only difference on the TB.

The 4.0L TB has a much larger bore, for all you 2.5L MPFI owners who are looking at getting more power from the 4banger.

Well my BDS 2 1/2 inch lift arrived today.

Muuh muuuh muhaaaahahahahahahahahaaa!!!!

Shame I am going to be in Tulsa all weekend going to the fair and the bike drags on Sunday. Man I am gonna go crazy not being able to stuff it under there till............................???? :? Hope I can sleep.

One more question folks, If I find a 95, how many miles is too many? My 88 was in its second engine. I realize it all matters on how it was taken care of, but....when would you say...No Thank you? I've been searching for quite a while now and every one I see has 100,000 miles or so. I am quite anxious to get back into the freedom my jeep gave me, but do not want it only to run for a short time.( previous problems with engine) Thanks for any input! ~E

I was looking for a '95 and found a '92 with 62,000 miles on it. Shop around till you find "the right deal". Plenty of Jeeps out there, take your time, be patient, and the right deal will come along. Look them over hard. It's hard to be patient when you are exited about getting a new ride, but if you can be disciplined, it usually pays off!

Average mileage on a used car is usually based on 15k/year. For a '95 avg. is about 120k.

Happy hunting!
