    Ok is this carb ok?

You will need to get an adapter for the bolt pattern of the carb vs your intake. If I remember correctly, it's Mr. Gasket Part No. 1920. The throttle linkage requires a little modification, but that's no big deal. The carb you can get from a junkyard for maybe 40 bucks, and a rebuild kit for...

    Ok is this carb ok?

Ok, I think I'll insert the obligatory MC 2150 speel this time. *ahem* Most people will tell you to pull a Motorcraft 2150 or 2100 carb outa a junkyard and bolt that down. It's an extremely easy swap and you will love it. I did it to mine and have nothing but good things to say about it...

    Junkyard carb

I was looking around a junkyard today and came across this older Camaro with a 4 barrel Edelbrock carb. From what I hear, Edelbrock has a reputation for good performance so I was wondering if this thing was swappable. The guy said 35 bucks as is. All the linkage worked fine and it was actually...

    Spray In Bed Liner

I think the idea is that it comes out lumpy. The point of bedliner is to add a textured layer of protection to the surface it is being sprayed on. I think you did it right, so don't worry about it. I hope it holds out well. Good luck.

    sputtering under acceleration

When I was working on my ignition, I remember my vac advance was a PITA to move as well. Soo, don't think that's it, but I guess it's worth a try.

    sputtering under acceleration

I don't think anybody has any ideas. This is strange. Are you absolutely SURE the carb mixture is set right, because it really sounds like you're running rich to me. Make sure the choke linkage isn't binding or anything.

    Fuel Cell

A fuel cell is nice because it gives you the clearance back there and also the room to move the rear axle back if you want to in the future. As far as Cons go, I'm not really sure, can't really think of any other than the lost cargo space. So, as long as you're not too worried about that, I'd...

You're right TC. I'm sorry, that never crossed my mind. I'll remember that in future posts. Hypocritical as it may have been, I still think my post has some merit and should not be ignored.

    Rustys Offroad .com

Ummm, actually it does . . . kinda by definition. And Jesus guys, he had a bad experience and wanted to share it. Absolutely no reason to bash him. You can disagree with him all you want, but don't be a**holes about it. I'm plain disgusted at the behavior of some of the people on this board...

    '85 CJ7 6 Backfires on downhill idle

MC 2150 is the higher altitude version of the MC 2100. Pretty much the same carb. Just keep looking around. Decent junkyards will be full of MC21xx for cheap and even eBay should be. The carb swap was a cinch, even I did it. Just read a lot of online writeups (google is your best friend). About...

Grinding noise from front of engine

Ok, so should I be worried about fixing this quick, or can I make the drive and fix it when I get there? Reason I'm asking is I'm leaving this coming Friday. If the Balancer does crap out on the trip, would I be expecting any permanent damage? I still have to concretely diagnose the problem, but...

Grinding noise from front of engine

Well, as the title suggests, I've got a grinding noise coming from the front of the engine. Sounds like the pulley that the fan is on or the harmonic balancer. It used groan only every once in a while, but now it does it pretty much constantly. Y'all have any ideas? I'm fixing to make a trip...

    CJ7 Front Spring Packs

Ok, as some of you may know, I'm looking for a couple front spring packs for a CJ7. I need some leaves out of them. I'll be willing to pay anything reasonable and will come pick them up if I can. I'm in South Texas right now (Corpus Christi Area) but will be going back to school in Terre Haute...

    Jeep caving...

I dunno, I'm kinda with Randall on this one. I think it looks like fun. It's someplace new to go Jeeping, someplace that provides quite a challenge in fitting one's Jeep into those caves. It may be dangerous because of the exhaust gases or vibrations, but in the right cave, where these things...
