    Jeep Compass gets Slammed

Well shoot, if they'd only called me while this thing was on the drawing board. I woulda told 'em it was a bad idea, nobody would like it, and that they would lose diehard supporters. *sigh* tsk tsk Dr. Z.

    Anyone Paint With Spray Cans?

I think JP did a writeup last summer called " $80 paint job" or "rattle can paint job" or something like that. Of course, their Jeep turned out amazing. Google it, see what you can find.

    Tug Of War

The guys around here do it to show off their rigs. Kinda like a street race but for torquey trucks. I've no problem with an organized event and it even looks like fun, but I get annoyed with the kids around here think their all badarse in their stock F-150 and 1500's. Grrr

Why Jeeps are better than hummers...

Yeaaah, I'm not saying Hummers are better by any means, but when I watch these videos, I see built Jeeps outperforming a stock Hummer who picked a bad line to begin with. There are plenty of videos out there of people doing stupid stuff in their Jeeps too. If we're gonna bash Hummers, let's do...

    Wheel stud popped off

Ok, trip ended up not happening, but that's ok. I went to go take the drum off this morning and it will not come off. I drilled the screws out and they are not hindering the drum in any way, I thought I backed the adjusters off correctly. You have to turn the star wheel downward, right? I'm...

    Wheel stud popped off

Hello guys, I got my new tires in today. I'm really excited about getting them on, but as I was taking off the old ones, one of the wheel studs on the rear driver's tire popped right off almost at the drum. As far as I know, all you need to take off to replace one of these is just the drum...

    Clicking exhaust valve

Hello guys. As the title suggests, I have a clicking exahust valve, at least, I'm pretty sure that's what it is. It's one the first cylinder and I can hear it coming rom the valve cover and I can hear it in the tailpipe too. Sooo, exahust valve right? I may be imagining things(I didn't drive it...

    Bodywork Questions From A Newbie

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOFL SPARKY. About the liners, I used the duplicolr stuff and it's worked out great so far. I've no experience with the herculiner, but I have nothing but good things to say about my duplicolor and it was quite a bit cheaper.

    Drilling holes in frame . . .

Yeah, sorry guys, don't know why I didn't think about that first. I did that and it worked out just fine. Thanks a lot.

    Drilling holes in frame . . .

Hey guys. I just picked up my new exhaust today and I'm having trouble getting it into the Jeep. There's planty of room for it, but I just can't get it in there without dropping the skid plate. Well, I went to do that, and I found that there are only four bolts holding the thing up instead of...

    Need some new wheel help

oh wow. Well, once I get some with less backspacing, I'll be in the 2-3 inch range, which seems kinda ridiculous. Should I just go with 1.5" spacers? If not, where can I find cheap steelies with that kind of backspacing?

    HEI electrical problems

I figured out what the problem was. Corrosion inside of the fuse block (right where it sandwiches the firewall) had cut off the flow of electricity to the coil. I just cleaned it off and put some anti corrosion gel in there and it works great now. Nothing can me feel stupid like oxygen can make...

    Need some new wheel help

Ignore my sig, once I saw the price on a set of spacers, I gave up and said I'm gonna get some new steelies. I did a search on here and found that everybody seems to like the black rock crawler rims. Ok, I still wanna widen my stance though, sooo, what's the stock back spacing on a CJ and what...

    HEI electrical problems

Hello guys, I've got a problem. I've got no spark, it happened right when I hit a speedbump in the the Ace Hardware parking lot the other day. It just died. I checked all the components in the distributor and even took the module to O'Riely's to get it tested, and they said it was good. The...

    blew a ujoint yesterday

It's easy to mod the yoke to take u-bolts instead of u-straps and it involves drilling a hole through that hole anyway, so you'll drill through that stuck bolt anyhow. Lemme find the writeup for it real fast . . . alright, here you go bud. Super easy ...

    Safety in a CJ

Alright guys, thanks a lot. I'm gonna go get me some shoulder harnesses. Adios.

    Blown out "clutch" knee

Keeping the cluth all the way in like that for extended periods of time can be bad for the throwout bearing, which seem to be a pretty expendable part on Jeeps. Soooo, if I were you, yeah, I'd change that habit.

    Safety in a CJ

Hey guys, I got in a wreck the other day. I didn't wreck the Jeep, I was driving a company vehicle . . . yeah, sucks. I know though that if I had been driving the Jeep, I would have been severely injured or dead. The Jeep's brakes are worse, it has no shoulder belts, and no airbag. Those three...
