    Transmission question...

Oh, well you can get a nice T-18 four speed. That way, it should bolt right up, and you'll be able to use your fourth gear as a pseudo overdrive. You'd be running about 2350 rpm at 65. That's pretty good. With the T-18, you'd get a nice 6.38? first so offroading would be just fine.

    Transmission question...

Let's see. What do you have for axle gears and tire size? This could be a lot more simple.

    Leaf Springs?

$30,000! Just a note, you'll never get 30 grand back out of a Jeep upon resale unless it were kissed by Elvis himself. That, as we know, will never happen unless he decides to come back from the planet Käsekopf. What's so bad with leafs, anyways?

CJ 5 as a daily driver?

Oh, I think the jets in the R are already bigger than that. I saw 135 and 48 jets recommended for the uncorking mods. Come to think about it, I think the L has a different carb. Oh well. They're great bikes, nonetheless.

    CJ7 vs YJ vs TJ

Who in the world would put square headlights on a Commando?! That looks disgusting! I don't care about headlights, but that, my friends, is just wrong. I think I puked a little, even.

Some actual Tech in the Tech session

I thought about doing something like this, but I just made a skid plate instead. Very cool setup.

CJ 5 as a daily driver?

Sounds like my plan for later on. By the way, what size jets did you get with all those mods?

CJ 5 as a daily driver?

Like the snorkel and header welds? I was fouling out plugs, but when I took out the air box snorkel, the mixture leaned out enough to keep the plugs from fouling. Later on, I'm going to grind the header welds, mod the baffle, and get new jets. That'll uncork some power.

    Go Big or Go Home?

That's what I was thinking. If I understood him correctly, the front might be a HP. I was just googling and I saw a 70 f100 fwd with a hp44. So the diff can be fitted with new tubes? How messy is that feat?

    Go Big or Go Home?

I was just offered a pair of Dana 60 and HD Dana 44 axle with 4.10 gears for a "good" price :shades:. The only downside is that it's on a 72 Ford chassis, so it has a driver side drop. In order for me to use the front, I would use an NP205 ONLY if I could find a precious SM transmission so my...

    Gaming..

  I loved to play Forza Motorsport 2 on 360. I was in the top 10 percentile on a few tracks. But alas, the video on the box quit; the video/audio cable was fine. The warranty is out, too. Oh well. Due to my motion sickness, I can't take the jerky view of shooter games. I can...

CJ 5 as a daily driver?

I drove a 250L once. It was very smooth and nice. Come to think about it, I'm pretty sure the R is just geared way low. My top speed is like 60, but it gets there quick.

CJ 5 as a daily driver?

Is that an XR250L? Wow, when the trip meter worked on our XR250R, I was getting 50mpg. Of course, I was by no means driving economically.
