The Renix system this jeep has has always had grounding issues,do a search for ground refreshing. Also look at the fuel pump relay,resistor and wiring .this stuff is more common of a problem than anything. Can you here the fuel pump run when you turn the key on ?

If you are still having issues look into the fuel pump relay out on the pass side fender well,they go bad a lot .

The 242 transfer case is really different than your standard t-case that everyone grew up with (part-time) refers to the times you use it not the function of it . Think of part-time as a dif locker ,that locks front and rear difs together ,add hard non giving surfaces ,like pavement and before...

It sounds like a 242 t case ,on mine the t case handle was hitting the shift bezel when going back to 2 wheel drive,not letting it drop out of part time . Do not drive on hard pavement until you know its out of part-time.

Oil pan ? Is your jeep leaking oil ? It sounds like your jeep over heated,loud high pitch sound,the sound of boiling fluid,get one hot enough the oil pressure drops to 0 psi. Can you turn your motor over by hand,to see if it is sized or not.
