    Bent control arm bracket

Umm if you want pics of front axle welding - I have those too. With the Low Center or Gavity suspension Josh at SkinnyPedal is building for me, we decided a 3 link front would be a good plan. Hint for the parts guy - that third link mount was NOT bolted on. No room for a truss up here so...

    Rubicon or not?

Buy a brand new 4 door Rubicon model, never take it off road, and sell it to me in a few years when you are ready for a new car. 8) Seriously - for a wheeling Rig, a Rubicon is pretty nice because it has lots of great options for use in the rocks. I'd suggest you save the cash and get her a...

    Tube Fenders.

Lots of Tube fender kits actually re-use the factory inner fenders and have you cut them away. I went with TNT (Treks) for my first set of tubes because they did not re-use anything. I sold the factory fenders to a friend for $300 to offset the cost of the tubes. Not sure how stron the cut...

    Bent control arm bracket

You definitely do not need a new axle. The dealership simply is not the place to get that fixed. Those can be hammered, bent, and 'coaxed' back into place. Eventually, the metal will fatigue and give way (after many bend and fix cycles). At that point, you can still repair it with a...

Wrangler death wobble – 2004 LJ

A properly set up TJ or LJ should not require ANY steering stablizer. I'd pull the stabilizer off and see if the wobble is still there. There are a ton of possible causes of death wobble. Usually, the causes revolve around loose or worn parts like (incomplete list I am sure): Loose front...

    LCG lift

You can do lots of things to keep a Jeep low and run larger tires. I'm 75% of the way through my LCG process. In the end, I'll be running my 37" while having a very low stance. I cannot tell exactly what the lift amount is because I am not sure what I would even measure to compare it to...

    Sway bar disconnects = bad???

X2 on all that.... And - JP Magazine technical editors like the idea of modified front and rear swaybars (Like AntiRock) better than disconnecting the front and leaving the rear connected. I've run many different types of disconnects in various configurations on my TJ over the years Rancho...

    JayDub's 4th Time Is A Charm Build

Links will be 7075 Aluminum Cut to length and Machined to accept Johnny Joints. The entire build is 'repairing' the craptacular Full Traction kit I had on the Jeep before. Axles are going to be heavily trussed Dana 44 (stock Rubicon) housings with Alloy shafts, CTM U-Joints, 30 Spline...

    Skinny Pedal door hangers

I agree completely with Terry. I started with a single door hanger and quickly found the product to be simple, effctive and nice looking. I now have three sets of hangers for my Tube doors, Full steel doors, and Half steel doors. Here is a pic of my garage wall with the Full and Half doors...

JKS Quick disconnects & adjustable track bar

I'd suggest you buy teh JKS quicker disconnects for a 4" lift. They adjust to work on a Jeep with as little as 1" lift and as much as 8". I would also suggest you get the Adjustable track bar that JKS suggests for a 4" lift.

anywhere to wheel in Nevada or nearby?????

There is a bunch of wheeling there. Google Search "Hump & Bump" to see some pictures of a rather large event. PM me if you want the names of a couple locals in the Vegas/Henderson area. I wheel with them in Moab Utah every year. Good guys.

Question about track bar and drop pitman arm

The 4 inch lift will make that stock track bar too short. You can buy adjustable track bars (I really like JKS manufacturing products) or you can buy adjustable track bar brackets. Not meant to be obnoxious - the following is meant for new jeepers... The purpose of the track bar is to hold...

    poppin out

My Jeep had that issue after I dumped the T-Case drop that was installed with my first lift. You can fix this by adjusting the linkage. I'd suggest you have a friend help because it took me a long time to get mine adjusted alone. (Under jeep, set linkage, in jeep test, under adjust, in test...

    Hoist-A-Top

I have a hoist-a-top set up. I bought the manual version. The bracket that holds the top itself is made of multiple pieces (obviously just to make it less costly to ship). It works fine, but a welded piece would be nice. After figthing with the come-a-long syle ratchet for a year, I bought...

    New to the board

Hey chili. Good to see you here. Thanks everyone for teh comments on my Jeep. I am going to install a couple more items this week then pronounce the Jeep build done. Of course there are a couple hundred things I would like to change, but it will never be finished if I keep doing that. I have...

Another Puchase decision Leather vs cloth

I have vehicles with both. For top down wheeling, I prefer cloth just because I wheel a lot in the desert. Leather gets hot in teh summer and cold in the winter. It also can split at the seams if not maintained well. On the flip side, it looks nice and cleans up easy.

    Purchase decision: Manual vs. Auto

I have an auto in my Jeep and love it. I went Auto because my wife thought she may drive the Jeep back then. Now that it is on 37s, she does not drive it at all. I rock crawl the Jeep alot. The control you have with auto is so much better than manual. No stalls, Jerky take offs, etc. Not...

    wheel spacers

I run 1.25" Spidertrax on my Jeep. I re-torque them when I rotate the tires. It is all of about 5 minutes to maintain. The more time consuming maintenance is torquing all the bolts on my bead locks... In my opinion, wheel spacers and beadlocks simply require you pay a little more attention...
