ive got the hard top that came with the jeep, just been to sorry to prep and paint it. been in Tennessee for the last few days vacationing I really wish I could have brought the jeep, this rice burner sucks.
rattlers, moccasins, and coral snakes we have'em in Ga. biggest rattler i killed was 6 feet 3 in. skinned him, deep fried'em and it was delicioso. I now just relocate them to the woods if they're in the yard.
Good luck, some advice to get you started. Buy a chilton or haynes manual first these will explain how most things on the jeep work and how to repair or replace most parts. Decide first what u want the jeep to look like when ur done then get started. Have fun!
pretty sure you dont have to extend anything for a 2 inch suspension lift. you do really need to get new shackles. if you're doing a body lift you will have to extend some parts. i put a 2.5 in suspension on mine with extended brake lines, but my lines were trash so it made sense
going to get it saturday, ill upgrade the jeep like everybodyelse, every chance i get, but this one will probably take awhile. Better to have and not need than need and not have.
thanks for the info, i dont really need it just liked the sound of more hp. you answered my main question as to whether the rest of the drive train would hold up and i didn't think it would for very long. i think i wil go ahead and get the engine and when mine dies maybe upgrade then...
a friend offered me a free 305 engine needing to be rebuilt, along with alot of new parts to many to type. would this be worth rebuilding for the jeep or is the hp gain worth it. how hard is it to install a gm 305 in a 89 yj. will transmission bolt up with a kit and will the factory axles take...
check your alternator it may not be charging the battery properly. with the jeep running it should be reading around 13-14 on your gauge, if it is and you have a/c turn it on then read your gauge again if still between 13-14 alt is probably good. or just have parts store check it for you
unless you just want the look of bolts or rivets i recommend 3M double face tape the white roll it sticks better than the gray or black, however the tape is a little pricey. tape will leave no holes or bare metal meaning no rust issues.
heat it with small torch flame to red hot then immediately quench with wet rag, being careful not to burn surrounding panel. paint on the head is not the culprit it is the loc tite or rust on the threads. heat or drill bit are the easiest u should be able to find a new bolt.
thank you veterans both retired and active, and here's to the families who have lost and those who are awaiting the return of their loved ones. Happy 4th
and thanks to all the public safety who help keep us safe
not sure if yours is cable driven or gear driven, if it is gear driven and you replace only the motor beware the clock spring. when you remove the motor it releases the tension on the clock spring instantly. it has been awhile since i worked on a jeep regulator. but check prices for motor and...
everything done except the hardtop, still trying to make up my mind on color or line-x. I've been to busy driving it to worry alot about the top in all honesty.
for those who may call this a road queen as soon as it rains it will get muddy we've had about 2 inches of rain since march . its...
