    bolt stuck!! BAD!!

I worked in a machine shop for a while. We used the weld and cool method on anything stuck we needed to remove. When the weld cools it causes the bolt to shrink usually smaller than it was before. Used this method on the screw in freeze plugs and oil galley plugs, broken bolts and even valve...

    Ax15 transmission

I just had to rebuild the AX-15 in my 95 Wrangler for this same problem. I was able to buy my parts from Blumenthal Manufacturing in OK City and all of the parts were very reasonable. New bearings, seals, and synchros cost me around 250.00. They offered a rebuilt transmission for around...

    Long 1st post from newbie

Hey Cappy I live just north of you in Okieland. I have seen some of that black clay mush and red clay from the Red River and know what is like to be stuck on top of the ground from no traction. I run the Buckshot Maxxis Mudders and have found them to be great for this area. You don't have...

95 Jeep Wrangler not disengaging 4wd

Thanks. I did not know if it was supposed to unscrew or if you had to remove a clip in the inside. I had narrowed it down to this point.

95 Jeep Wrangler not disengaging 4wd

I have a 95 wrangler with a 4.0 and 5 speed. A couple of weeks ago, I went wheelin' with some friends in the mountains and after all the fun I took my Jeep out of 4wd and the light in the dash would not go off. I drove it home and crawled underneath to see what the problem was. I removed the...

    95 yj ring & pinion?

Actually if noone has been into your diffs there should be a metal tag (usually on the rear to the left side) with the gear ratio on it. The only other way I know of to identify for sure is to pull the cover and look at the ring gear and find what the ratio is it will look something like this...

Looking for information on stroking a 4.0

Thanks. I have read a ton of articles, I just wanted to know if anyone had personally done this and what the results were. Articles in magazines are notorious for making things look and sound easier than they are. I am gathering parts now to start mine.

Looking for information on stroking a 4.0

I was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with stroking a 4.0 to a 4.5-4.7? From what I have read in a couple of articles on the internet this is a pretty simple thing to do. However I haven't seen or heard much about it on this forum. If anyone out there has built one I am...

    Interesting yj fuel pressure problem

My 4 wheelin buddy and I were driving down the road and the check engine light came on in his 94 yj 4.0. We went to Oreilleys and borrowed their scan tool and the code was 52 rich condition detected at O2 sensor. We turned on the key (without starting the engine) and fuel pressure was right on...

    94 YJ hard starting problem.

Replaced fuel pressure regulator. No help. Replaced fuel pump with Bosch from O'Reilleys still no help. Does anyone know what brand pumps Chrysler puts on from the factory?

    94 YJ hard starting problem.

I have a 95 yj with a 4.0 and a friend of mine has a 94 with a 4.0. When you start mine it will fire off almost instantly. On my buddy's his has to crank over for 4-6 seconds before it will start. We put a gauge on the fuel rail and it has 38 psi but it bleeds down to under 30 in about 3-4...
